The Power of Words: How Improving Self-Talk Can Improve Communication and Relationships
This is absolutely true of my Life Enrichment journey. You would think that I had this great epiphany that allowed me to see how much my words impacted others and thereby allowing for a vast improvement in my communication skills. While this is partially true, I also figured out that how I was talking to myself was impacting the way I was living and thinking. When I learned that there was a different way to communicate with myself, I understood at a very deep level how much better I could communicate with others.
I figured out that if my words had this much impact, then those loved ones in my life deserved my very best and clearest communication. You know what else I learned? That I could stop trying to communicate with those who didn't want to hear me at all.

Putting all of these pieces together helped me to communicate better and more effective and as a result I was able to improve my relationships. I was better able to understand others and be understood so much better than before. The change was swift and dramatic. It was like I broke through an invisible wall that was between me and the persons I was communicating with. I think it was Tony Robbins who said "the quality of your communication is the quality of your life" and truer words could not have been spoken. I invite you to begin paying close attention to the power and impact of the words you choose when speaking to yourself as well as others. You may be surprised at what you learn.
